Daringbadi — Kashmir of Odisha
Nestled at 3,000 feet in the Eastern Ghats, Daringbadi is Odisha's only hill station — and in monsoon, it earns its nickname completely. Coffee and pepper plantations disappear into rolling cloud, pine forests drip with silver mist, and the cool air feels like a physical relief. Temperature routinely drops to 15°C on July evenings, making it the only place in the state where you'll actually need a blanket in summer.
The famous Nature Camp is a well-run forest lodge managed by the Odisha Forest Development Corporation, surrounded by a dense pine and eucalyptus grove. Book months in advance for July–August weekends.
